REQUEST A RIBBON CUTTING
At the Eudora Chamber of Commerce, we're committed to celebrating your successes with our ribbon-cutting ceremonies. These events are exclusive benefits for Chamber Member businesses. To qualify, members must be in good standing and have a compelling reason, such as anniversaries, new locations, remodelings, grand openings, or similar milestones. New members can schedule a ribbon cutting upon committing to a membership agreement.
Choosing the Date
Planning is key to a successful event. Setting a date for your ribbon cutting or special event requires careful consideration to ensure maximum attendance and impact. Here are some essential tips:
Avoid Holidays
Check Community Events
Consult the Chamber Calendar
Consider Your Audience
Skip Weekends
When deciding whom to invite to your event, consider these key groups:
Potential and current customers
Employees and volunteers
Neighboring businesses
Friends and family
Business associates
Who to Invite
Food & Beverages
When planning refreshments, choose options appropriate for the time of day. While food is optional for simple ribbon cuttings, more significant events with tours may benefit from offering light refreshments. Please consider coordinating with a Chamber Business for your refreshment.
Crafting a Memorable Ceremony
At the Eudora Chamber of Commerce, we believe a well-planned program adds meaning to events like ribbon cuttings and groundbreakings. It highlights your team, gives the occasion purpose, and helps showcase your business
Keep it short: Aim for a 30-minute event to respect guests' time.
Limit speakers: Keep remarks under 10 minutes total to stay on schedule and maintain energy.
Boost engagement: Add a door prize, giveaway, or product sample to make your event memorable and encourage attendance.
Media Presence
At the Eudora Chamber of Commerce, we know media coverage can elevate your ribbon cutting or groundbreaking event. While coverage isn't guaranteed, you can improve your chances with a few simple steps:
Contact the Eudora Times at eudoratimes@gmail.com at least 10 days in advance. Include key details: who, what, when, where, and why. Follow up 1–2 days before the event.
Have a photographer on site. If the media can’t attend, send them a photo. The Chamber is also happy to take and share pictures on your behalf.
Maximizing Chamber Resources
At the Eudora Chamber of Commerce, we're here to help make your event meaningful and well-attended. Here's how we support you:
Publicity: We promote your event through our social media and Chamber Events Calendar before and after.
Networking: We invite fellow Chamber members to help you connect with the community.
Chamber Presence: At least two board members will attend to officiate and support your event.
Ribbon Cutting Supplies: We provide oversized scissors and ribbon to mark the occasion.
Photography: A Chamber rep will capture photos and can share them with you for your use.
Let’s make your milestone moment memorable!
